About You
Most companies like to talk about themselves. We would much rather talk about you, and how we can help you.
We don't work with just anyone. Our approach is different, and while we feel it's the best approach out there, some people aren't ready for it. Below are some qualities we look for in potential clients.
Curiosity
It may have killed the cat, but it also helps create informed clients. Our most successful clients ask questions -- lots of them. In this market a typical project involves hundreds of thousands of dollars -- you deserve to have your questions answered in full. You should be eager to learn but it shouldn't stop there. You must be eager to understand.
Motivation
We look for clients who strive to be better than average. You must willing to commit the time to making better financing decisions. As an example, we recently spent two hours with a client helping him to decide whether to sell his first home or rent it out while upgrading. We took the time to examine the short and long-term financial implications. As a result, we think our client will be tens of thousands of dollars ahead in the long-run.
Thoughtfulness
You must think to succeed. This means considering all the facts and making logical, rational decisions. As an example, we once had a prospective client call and ask us for the "lowest payment possible." He didn't want to discuss his goals or his situation, but he was prepared to make a big decision based on just one factor: monthly payment. We expect more thoughtfulness from our clients -- we want you to have the best chance of success, and that starts with putting some thought into your decisions.
